Batik Workshop
Datum:18.10.2026 / 14:00 bis 18:00 Uhr
As part of “Tage der offenen Ateliers” / Open Studio Days in Linz, we’re hosting a dynamic introduction to the Indonesian craft of Batik on cotton at Atelier Transpart. Wear clothes that can get stained and join Elisa with a tea in hand to discover the cultural context and core process of this ancestral art form that blends together tradition, mindfulness and… fun!
Elisa Rodríguez studied Fine Arts between Madrid, Paris and Vilnius, consecutively moving to Yogyakarta with a Darmasiswa scholarship to learn batik in the Indonesian Institute of the Arts. Her practice focuses on painting and urban art, exploring overlooked details of everyday life through subtle interventions in public space.
Alongside her artistic practice, she has developed educational projects in the Spanish Museum of Scultpure, Patio Herreriano or Museo Casa de Cervantes. She currently runs batik, watercolour and art workshops in art spaces between Linz (Austria) and Valladolid (Spain).
