MIND THE GAP
Datum:18.10.2025 / 20:00 bis 21:00 Uhr
A co-production of Flying Elephant (AT/DE)
The dance theater piece MIND THE GAP poetically delves into the complex reality of queer relationships, revealing the gap between the private and the public. Two performers negotiate the tensions of their relationship, the gap between self-perception and public judgment, and challenge stereotypical images of queer people. "What is discussed in this piece concerns not only queer people—but every single person. It is intended to draw attention to the personal norms and judgments that we are forced into by others or ourselves. It is about freedom, touch, and visibility." – Florian Entenfellner, choreographer & performer
About MIND THE GAP
Through captivating choreography and physical interaction, the performance invites the audience to experience the emotional and physical dynamics of a partnership up close. The dance-theater duo opens a space for reflection on equality, intimacy, and the challenges that shape every relationship. The piece was developed based on interviews with members of the queer community. The choreography, representing these voices, is dedicated to the negotiation of these collective experiences. Beyond the queer perspective, the piece fundamentally questions forms of personal unfreedom. It is about reflecting on where we constrain ourselves and others with norms and expectations – regardless of gender or orientation.
